A year ago, the Century United Board decided to develop a new look for the field and uniform logos. The club held a contest and invited all players and families to submit entries. In December, entries were collected, reviewed and discussed by the board. Final ideas were submitted to a graphic designer, Kris Martinez, who perfected the professional and eye catching look. We wanted a look that could be used for many years and would identify the Century United Club both on and off the field. The new logo became a reality when the board unanimously voted to adopt the look in March 2005.
At this time, we wish to introduce the new Century United logo and its meaning: The club once hailed as Century Five out of the Pittsburgh area. Hence, our newly founded logo of Century United has a five pointed star that directly reflects the direction and philosophy of the club while tying us to our beginnings. The five points in the star on our logo represent the qualities we wish to emphasize within our program and to engender among our players, coaches and parents:
. Excellence:Always in pursuit (working hard) on and off the field to represent the club in striving for excellence
. Community: Developing relationships within and outside the game of soccer
. Character: Exploring what makes a person special
. Respect: Continually respecting the game and everyone associated with it
. Education: The club stresses the importance of education in and out of the classroom and guides our participants to set goals in academics as well as athletics.
Look for the logo both on and off the field to represent Century United Football Club.
